Updates to the Wight Gym
Thanks to a generous grant from The Ben B. Cheney Foundation, the athletics program received a much-needed infusion of visible Tarrier Spirit through custom graphics, signage, and banners in and around The Wight Gym.
Through the grant, CWA was also able to purchase new cameras and HUDL livestreaming equipment that has enabled us to share our competitions with fans wherever they may be. We will soon also see the installation of an illuminated sign on the exterior of the gym, and one additional camera for Haertl Field.
When you drive onto the Charles Wright campus, light pole banners now proudly display CWA’s school values of Excellence, Respect, Compassion, Perseverance, and Integrity, as well as a new Tarrier athletics logo. These are important reminders that we are stronger together, and of the values we hope to instill in each of our students. These upgrades have already improved morale for our Tarriers—whether in the gym, on the courts and fields, or virtually through our livestreams.
The stunning light pole banners, as well as all of the graphic upgrades to the inside and outside of the Wight Gym were designed and produced by Supergraphics, a Seattle company co-owned by CWA alumnus Reid Baker ’87. This is the third CWA project with Supergraphics, and we were thrilled to once again work with Reid’s expert team.
Thank you to The Ben B. Cheney Foundation for not only improving our athletic facilities, but for providing our students with an important boost of morale and school spirit, a daily reminder of our school values, and for helping to build community at CWA during a challenging time. Thank you for helping us bring this school community together while keeping student-athletes motivated. This will be a place of pride and honor for all students and adults in our community.
