Welcome to Our Newest Trustees

Two new members join the Board for 2022-23

Charles Wright Academy is proud to welcome two new members to our board of trustees for the 2022-23 school year. Our board exists to make decisions and take action to ensure the viability of Charles Wright’s mission into the future, and we are tremendously grateful for the time and commitment made by our alumni, parent, and community member Trustees. Please join us in welcoming Scott Case ’94 P’29 and Tamara Horn P’32 as our newest Trustees.

Scott Case ’94 P’29

Scott is a self-described “serial tech entrepreneur” focused on climate (EnergySavvy and Recurrent) and workforce equity (Ada Developers Academy). Scott, his partner Margot, and his son moved to Tacoma from Seattle in 2021. Scott holds a Bachelor of Arts from Williams College and Master of Business Administration from MIT’s Sloan School of Management. As a student at CWA, Scott was active in cross-country running, journalism, Knowledge Bowl, and community service clubs. This year as a new parent and alum, Scott served on the Risk Management Committee of the Board of Trustees. He was named CWA’s Alum of the Year in 2019.

Dr. Tamara M. Horn P’32

Tamara has worked in learning and development within technology corporations for over 20 years, where she focuses on creating professional skills strategies and supporting DEI strategies. Tamara and her husband, Solomon, place a high value on education, and CWA offered what they wanted: academic excellence fostered by experiential education through project-based learning and active support for diversity, equity, and inclusion. Tamara and her family specifically moved to South Puget Sound so that their son could attend CWA. Tamara earned her bachelor’s degree in radio, television, and theatre arts from San Jose State University, a Master of Business Administration from Seattle Pacific University, and a Doctorate in Education from the University of Southern California.
